The former richest man in the world, billionaire Elon Musk, has set a new record by becoming the first person in human history to lose $200 billion from his net worth. Elon Musk is the boss of Tesla and the owner of Twitter.
After Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, Musk had a personal fortune of more than $200 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaire Index.
Following the recent decline in Tesla shares, which included a massive 11% fall on December 27, Musk’s wealth reportedly decreased to $137 billion.
Before the end of the year, Tesla is giving customers in the United States a discount of $7,500 on its two most popular models.
Keep in mind that in November 2021, Musk’s wealth exceeded $340 billion, making him the richest person in the world for more than a year at a time.
The new Twitter owner was overtaken in December 2022 by Bernard Arnault, the French business magnate and co-founder of luxury goods powerhouse LVMH.
