Three Arrested For Attempting To Kill A Police Officer And Destroy A Patrol Truck In Ogun | MarvelTvUpdates

On Saturday, December 31, 2022, members of the Ogun State Police Command made the arrests of three individuals who attempted to kill a police sergeant named Akinpelu Sunday while he was performing his duties at Orile imo, in the Obafemi Owode LG area of Ogun State.

The speculators; Olayiwola Basiru, Bamimore Isiaka and Soliu were captured when they att#acked a cop and endeavored to consume a police towing vehicle in order to forestall examination concerning the reason for the mishap.

A police sergeant from the Traffic Section of the Owode Egba Divisional Headquarters was assigned to rescue the victims and transport the involved vehicles to the station following the report of an accident in the Orile imo area.

However, when the suspects arrived at the scene, they attacked the policeman and the driver of the towing vehicle with a sledge hammer, a stick, and other potentially lethal weapons to prevent them from transporting one of the involved vehicles to the station for additional investigation. Both the policeman and the driver of the towing vehicle were able to flee the scene and ran to the station with varying degrees of injuries.

The CSP Olasunkanmi Popoola, Divisional Police Officer, Owode Egba division, hinted and led his men to the location where he met the suspects. The suspects had already poured gasoline on the towing vehicle and were planning to set it ablaze after stealing the driver’s N520,000 cash sum.

Three of the criminals were apprehended; others managed to flee, but the remaining gasoline was recovered from them.

In the meantime, CP Lanre Bankole, the Commissioner of Police, has directed that those who escaped must be sought out and brought to justice.

He also said that the arrested suspects should be sent to the state departments of criminal investigation for more research and possible prosecution.
