Naira Scarcity: LASU Deputy Bursar Dies Inside Bank While On Queue To Withdraw Naira | MarvelTvUpdates

A Deputy Bursar with the Lagos State University (LASU), Mr Johnson Adesola Ademola, popularly called Prof, reportedly slumped and died, yesterday afternoon, while queueing to withdraw money at a bank.

It was gathered that the incident happened at a branch of WEMA Bank in the university, where customers were being allowed to withdraw a maximum of N5,000.

Eyewitnesses said the deceased had slumped without showing any prior signs of distress, while all efforts to revive him proved abortive.

He was subsequently taken to the University Health Centre, where he was certified dead.

The eyewitnesses blamed the incident on the hardship caused by the current scarcity of new naira notes, which forced many people to arrive the bank as early as 6am, some without eating, just to be able to withdraw their hard earned money.

The university is yet to formally announce his demise.
