Jose Mourinho Loses First Ever European Final To Sevilla | MarvelTvUpdates

Mourinho has suffered his first-European final defeat as Sevilla beat Roma 4-1 on penalties to win the Europa League for the record 7th time.

Roma scored in the 34th minute with an excellent finish from Paolo Dybala after a smart through ball from Gianluca Mancini.

An own goal from Mancini helped Sevilla get back on level terms in the 55th minute as he turned a cross from Jesus Navas into his net to make it 1-1.

Sevilla had a penalty decision overturned by VAR, but ultimately no side could break the deadlock in the 90 minutes of normal time.

The game entered into extra time, with the penalties taken in front of the enthusiastic Sevilla fans.

Sevilla emerged victorious after some last-kick drama when Gonzalo Montie allowed the chance to retake his penalty after Rui Patricio came off his line too early.

In his post-match interview with Skysports,

Mourinho said,

Tonight we died of mental and physical fatigue, there are so many episodes to talk about. Without the trophy in our hands, we are dead tired and proud.

You can lose a game, but never your professionalism. I won five finals and lost this one, but I’ve never been more proud

than I am tonight. The guys gave it all.”

Mourinho lamented Anthony Taylor’s refereeing, calling it woeful and spoke about the uncertainty of his future with Roma.
