President Bola Tinubu has appointed the incumbent speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila as his Chief of Staff.

According to our source, the president appointed Gbajabiamila after several hours of meetings and discussions.

According to reports, the president considered all potential candidates for the position among his loyalists before selecting Gbajabiamila.

Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila would have to miss out on being elected to the House of Representatives for the sixth time because the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had not yet issued him with his certificate of return.

This development would also open up a new opportunity for other party members who had put off running for Surulere constituency 1 representative in the House of Representatives.

Our source says that the president chose Gbajabiamila after a final meeting with stakeholders on Thursday morning at the Villa in Abuja.

Added that President Tinubu chose the speaker because he wanted someone who could help him convince lawmakers in the National Assembly to accept his policies and proposals.
