Emperor Adegeye, one of the biological sons of Juju music legend King Sunny Ade (KSA), has firmly refuted recent claims suggesting that the music icon has been abducted or is in distress.
In a statement posted online, Emperor Ade described the swirling rumors as “fake news” and urged the public and KSA’s devoted fans to disregard the reports.
“This news about KSA’s abduction is fake news. Please stop misleading the society and KSA’s forever fans,” Emperor Ade stated. He criticized those spreading the claims for failing to verify the information before sharing it, calling for greater responsibility and caution in disseminating sensitive news.
“My Dad is doing fine and well. Thank you for all your calls and chats,” he reassured fans, adding that King Sunny Ade remains in good health and spirits. Emperor Ade also emphasized the need to “debunk any false news and attention seekers,” reaffirming his father’s well-being.
The clarification comes in the wake of social media posts by Damilola Esther Adeniyi-Adegeye, another of KSA’s children, who had raised concerns about their father’s whereabouts and alleged mistreatment by his management team. Damilola’s claims sparked widespread worry among fans and supporters of the legendary musician.
However, with Emperor Adegeye’s statement, the family appears divided over the situation, with conflicting narratives emerging about King Sunny Ade’s current condition and management.
King Sunny Ade, often regarded as one of the pioneers of Juju music globally, continues to command immense respect in Nigeria and beyond. Fans are urged to await further official communication before drawing conclusions.
