
Identities of fleeing inmates from Ilesa Correctional Centre in Osun state have been revealed just as the Federal Government placed a ₦5 million bounty on seven inmates that escaped on Tuesday .
Report stated that the seven inmates took advantage of defect on the prison wall caused by rainstorm and escaped from the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Ilesa.
Spokesperson for the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), DCC Abubakar Umar, made the announcement in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja.
“To encourage public cooperation, the Nigerian Correctional Service is offering a ₦5 million reward for credible information that leads to the recapture of the escapees.”
He urged citizens to report any useful leads to the nearest security agency, assuring that all tips will be handled with strict confidentiality and anonymity.
The escape has sparked heightened concern, and security agencies are actively working to locate and apprehend the fugitives.
