The decision aimed at enhancing the home atmosphere comes despite forecasts of clear skies in Madrid.
The move echoes previous occasions when the club closed the roof for high-profile fixtures, even as technical work on the stadium’s newly renovated roof, completed in 2024, continues.
Madrid sits first in the La Liga table, two points ahead Barcelona.
