The Oke Sopen Legends have been crowned winners of the 2025 Ijebu-Igbo Football Legends Interzonal Competition, clinching the title in dramatic fashion after a 4–2 penalty shootout victory over Oke Agbo Legends.
The intense final, held at the Molusi College Mini Stadium, Ijebu-Igbo, ended 1–1 in regulation time before Oke Sopen held their composure from the spot to lift the coveted trophy.
Originally scheduled for LA Primary School, Oke Agbo, the final was moved to the Molusi College Mini Stadium due to logistical reasons. Despite the venue change and a slight delay, passionate fans packed the stands to witness an electric contest under bright and favourable conditions.

Oke Agbo Legends drew first blood in the first half through their talismanic forward Loco, who punished a defensive slip to make it 1–0. But Oke Sopen Legends came roaring back in the second half, as Hamzat fired home a stunning equalizer that sent the crowd into wild celebration and forced the match into a tense penalty decider.

In the shootout, Oke Sopen Legends proved more clinical, converting four of their spot kicks to Oke Agbo’s two. The decisive moment came when Oke Agbo’s Snr. Man (Sido) missed a crucial penalty, handing Oke Sopen Legends a memorable victory and the championship glory.

Earlier in the day, Atikori Legends claimed third place after a convincing 2–0 win over Ojowo/Japara Legends. Goals from Adedayo (Drogba) and Idris Abass (Bigman) sealed a well-deserved bronze finish for the side.

The grand finale also celebrated young talents, with Under-16 teams receiving prizes and recognition for their outstanding performances, adding colour and excitement to a memorable day of football and community spirit in Ijebu-Igbo.
