Tacha Breaks Two Guinness World Records for Most Cosmetic Makeovers in 8 and 24 Hours

Nigerian reality star and influencer Anita Natacha Akide, popularly known as “Symply Tacha,” has made history by breaking two Guinness World Records for the most cosmetic makeovers in eight and 24 hours.
The 29-year-old media personality, known for her appearances on Big Brother Naija and MTV’s The Challenge, achieved the remarkable feat in Lagos on October 11, transforming 82 faces within eight hours and extending her effort to complete 144 makeovers within 24 hours.
Despite battling power outages and heavy rain during the attempt, Tacha pushed through, driven by her passion for beauty and her desire to inspire young women across Africa.
“The idea of daring to be different drove me,” she said. “Makeup has always been my safe space it’s how I express myself. From childhood, I was fascinated by colours and beauty, even when my mum didn’t approve. That persistence taught me resilience.”
Tacha’s record-setting challenge was held behind a glass wall that allowed fans to cheer her on throughout the marathon.
She described the achievement as a celebration of Nigerian creativity and women’s empowerment, adding, “I wanted to show that Nigerian women can achieve anything they put their minds to, and that our creativity deserves global recognition.”
