The title was officially given to him by the HRM the Orimolusi of Ijebu Igbo, Oba Lawrence Jayeoba Adebajo (Ojuromi VI). The formal celebration of his installation will take place on February 5, 2026, with the football competition being one of the main events.
The tournament is organized by the Ijebu North branch of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) and is designed to promote unity, peace, and youth involvement in Ijebu Igbo. It is set to begin on January 10, 2026.
Five teams, representing the main quarters of Ijebu Igbo – Oke Sopen, Oke Agbo, Ojowo, Japara, and Atikori will take part. The competition will start with a league format, and the top four teams with the most points will move on to the super four semi-finals.
To officially announce the tournament, the Local Organizing Committee will hold a press briefing on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. This briefing will give full details of the tournament to the teams, their officials, and the public.
The total prize money is N1million. The winning team will receive N500,000, the second-place team N300,000, and the third-place team N200,000.

The organizers are confident that the tournament will not only celebrate the Oluomo’s installation but also bring the community together, encourage sportsmanship, showcase young talents, and increase youth participation in community development in Ijebu Igbo.
