The Orimolusi of Ijebu Igbo, Late Oba Joel Adeboye, Founder of Molusi College, Ijebu Igbo. The school was established through his vision and leadership, with the support of the Ijebu-Igbo community, to provide quality secondary education at a time when access to formal education was limited.

The institution, founded on January 28, 1949, has grown from humble beginnings into one of the most respected secondary schools in the region.
Molusi College was established through the collective efforts of the people of Ijebu-Igbo, led by traditional leaders, community stakeholders, and members of the Ijebu-Igbo Patriotic Society (IPS). The vision was to provide accessible quality education to the youth of the community at a time when secondary schooling opportunities were limited in the area.
The first principal, Professor S. Oluwole Awokoya, played a vital role in shaping the school’s early direction. He christened the institution with the powerful motto “Only the Best is Good Enough for Africa” a guiding principle that continues to inspire students and alumni alike.
