Information reaching our newsroom indicates that the Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 2 Command, Lagos, has directed the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ijebu-Igbo Division, CSP Akolade Oladejo, to appear before the zonal command in connection with an ongoing complaint.
A police wireless message dated February 4, 2026, and addressed to the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, Abeokuta, directed that CSP Akolade Oladejo be warned and released to report alongside a Officer Teju, Inspector Abegunde, Officer Samuel, Inspector Omale identified as the Head of Surveillance Team, for an interview at the Zone 2 Headquarters, Lagos.
The signal stated that the officers are to appear before the AIG on February 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., through the Office of the Zonal Provost Marshal. The directive, according to the message, is sequel to a complaint against the officers and specifically referenced the Ijebu-Igbo Division. The communication emphasized strict compliance and described the matter as “very important.”
Sources further informed our correspondent that the directive is connected to a petition currently under review at the zonal level.
Meanwhile, information available to our newsroom alleges that the DPO has reportedly failed to honour several previous summons from Zone 2 Command. Sources claim that he has allegedly boasted of having influential backing, suggesting that no action can be taken against him. These claims, however, remain unverified at the time of filing this report.
No official response from the Ogun State Police Command and the officers concerned were unsuccessful as of press time.
The development is expected to attract attention as the Zone 2 Command proceeds with its review of the complaint.
