A 25-year-old man, identified as Bello Olanrewaju, has been arrested in Ijebu Igbo, Ogun State, following an incident linked to an arranged meeting through social media.
According to information gathered, the gay suspect, who works as an auxiliary nurse and reportedly owns a chemist shop in the area, was apprehended after contacting a man on TikTok to arrange a private meeting. The individual he reached out to allegedly pretended to be interested and agreed to meet him at a location in the Egbe Semijeje area of Ijebu Igbo.
Sources revealed that the meeting was a setup. Upon arrival at the agreed location, Olanrewaju was reportedly confronted, as some individuals had been alerted beforehand. It was further alleged that parts of the encounter were recorded without his knowledge before he was handed over to authorities.
His TikTok account, @tifebello4, reportedly features several videos in which he appears dance and behaves in a feminine manner.
During preliminary questioning, the suspect reportedly admitted to engaging in similar activities over a period of time, stating that it began around 2022 when he was still in ladugbo secondary school Ijebu Igbo. He also claimed that most of his contacts and meetings occurred within Ijebu Ode and surrounding areas.
Following his arrest, Olanrewaju was transferred to the police Area Command in Ijebu Igbo, where the case is currently under investigation. Authorities have not yet released an official statement, but sources indicate that the matter will be handled in accordance with the law.
Residents in the area have expressed mixed reactions to the incident, while security agencies have urged the public to remain calm and allow due process to take its course. Further updates are expected as investigations continue.
