The Orimolusi of Ijebu Igbo, Oba Lawrence Jaiyeoba Adebajo, has congratulated Dr. Akinwumi Adesina on his recent African Lifetime Achievement Award at the African Heritage Awards.
In a statement released by the Royal Household, the monarch described the honour as a well-deserved recognition of Dr. Adesina’s outstanding contributions to Africa’s development and his lifelong dedication to service.
Oba Adebajo noted that Dr. Adesina’s transformative leadership at the African Development Bank Group has significantly impacted lives across the continent, bringing hope and progress to millions of Africans.
The monarch also commended Dr. Adesina for dedicating the award to Nigeria and the African continent, describing the gesture as a reflection of humility and a deep commitment to collective growth and unity.
Highlighting his roots, the royal father emphasized that Dr. Adesina is a proud and bonafide son of Ijebu Igbo, adding that the entire kingdom shares in the joy and pride of his global recognition.
“As a kingdom, we celebrate this remarkable achievement and honour a man whose legacy continues to inspire generations,” the statement read.
The Orimolusi further offered prayers for continued wisdom, strength, and good health for Dr. Adesina as he continues to serve humanity and contribute to Africa’s advancement.
