The Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) Olorunsogo Regional Headquarters in Ile-Ife, Osun State, has announced the excommunication of Prophet Oyebamiji Damilare, Shepherd of CCC Ogomide Gbarin Parish, over his alleged involvement in the Ogboni Fraternity.
In a letter dated May 26, 2026, and addressed to the Pastor and Spiritual Head of CCC Worldwide, the regional leadership said an investigation conducted by its Council of Shepherds confirmed the allegations against the cleric.
According to the church, membership in secret societies, cult groups, occult practices, and idolatry is strictly prohibited by the doctrines and tenets of the Celestial Church of Christ. The council stated that Prophet Oyebamiji’s alleged involvement violated both church regulations and biblical teachings.
The regional headquarters disclosed that emergency and stakeholders’ meetings were held on May 13 and May 18, 2026, respectively, during which evidence relating to the allegations was reviewed before a decision was reached.
As part of its resolutions, the council announced the immediate excommunication of Prophet Oyebamiji Damilare from the Council of Shepherds and all activities under the Olorunsogo Regional Headquarters. The church also called on the CCC Worldwide leadership and Taskforce Committee to take further disciplinary actions in line with church laws.
The council further requested an official disclaimer from the church’s worldwide leadership to dissociate the Celestial Church of Christ from the actions of the affected shepherd and to protect the image and integrity of the church.
The statement was signed by Venerable Superior Evangelist (Prophet) Ahonton Michael Josu, Regional Head of CCC Olorunsogo Regional Headquarters, Ile-Ife.
