All the schoolchildren and teachers abducted during the May 15 attack on the Ahoro-Esiele community in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State have regained their freedom.
The victims were kidnapped after heavily armed gunmen stormed the community, abducting 46 pupils, teachers, and the principal of a secondary school in an incident that sparked widespread concern across Nigeria.
The tragedy deepened days later when one of the abducted teachers, Michael Oyedokun, was reportedly murdered by the kidnappers, sending shockwaves through the nation.
Authorities have now confirmed that the remaining victims have been successfully rescued and reunited with their families. However, officials are yet to disclose details of the rescue operation, including whether any suspects were arrested or if a ransom was paid.
Further updates are expected as more information becomes available.
This is a developing story.
