2027: Ijebu North Constituency I Must Choose Between Leadership and Lawlessness — Oluomo of Ijebu Igbo

The Oluomo of Ijebu Igbo, High Chief Alhaji Ismail Olawale Lawal Abinugbola, has called on residents of Ijebu North Constituency I (Ijebu Igbo) to prioritize character, integrity and competence as they prepare for the 2027 House of Assembly election.
In a statement, the respected traditional chief described the forthcoming election as a defining moment for the constituency, urging voters to choose leadership built on service and good character over intimidation and misconduct.
In his words:
“The 2027 election is more than a political contest it is a referendum on the kind of society we want to build.
Ijebu North Constituency I must choose between a candidate known for decency, humility, service, and respect for the people and a candidate whose public conduct has repeatedly raised serious concerns about temperament, respect for others, and suitability for public office.
Leadership is earned through character, not intimidation. Public office is a position of trust, not an avenue for arrogance or disorder.
Our children are watching. The leaders we elect today become the examples they follow tomorrow. If we reward conduct that undermines civility and respect, we should not be surprised when those same values take root in our society.
This election is not just about party affiliation; it is about the values we choose to uphold.
