DCC Dr. Mustapha Abdulrafiu Leads Igbeba Custodial Centre Delegation on Appreciation Visit, Honours Oluomo of Ijebu Igbo

The Deputy Controller of Corrections (DCC), Officer-in-Charge of the Igbeba Medium Security Custodial Centre, Ijebu-Ode, Dr. Mustapha Abdulrafiu, today led a delegation on a courtesy and appreciation visit to the office of the Oluomo of Ijebu Igbo, High Chief Alhaji Ismail Olawale Lawal Abinugbola in Ijebu Igbo, Ogun State.
During the visit, the Nigerian Correctional Service presented an Award of Appreciation and Recognition to High Chief Abinugbola in honour of his unwavering humanitarian support and contributions to the welfare of inmates at the custodial centre.
Speaking during the presentation, Dr. Abdulrafiu commended the Oluomo for his consistent commitment to improving the lives of inmates through financial assistance, medical interventions and rehabilitation support.
According to the Correctional Service, High Chief Abinugbola has, over the years, sponsored the release of inmates by paying fines imposed by the courts. Most recently, he reportedly spent over N3million to settle court fines, securing the freedom of 11 inmates.
In addition, the respected community leader donated medical supplies worth over N1million to the custodial centre to enhance healthcare services for inmates. He has also consistently provided food items and other welfare support, particularly during festive periods, bringing hope and relief to those in custody.
Receiving the award, the Agbesinga Adinni of Ijebu-Land Alhaji Ismail Lawal Abinugbola expressed gratitude to the management of the Nigerian Correctional Service for the recognition. He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting humanitarian causes and helping inmates rebuild their lives through compassion and meaningful assistance.
The visit, which took place at Abinugbola Enterprises, the official office of the Oluomo in Ijebu Igbo, was described as productive and cordial, with both parties emphasizing the importance of partnerships that promote inmate welfare, rehabilitation and successful reintegration into society.
