Police Arrest Four Over Viral Dancing, Public Humiliation and Cyberbullying of Alleged PoS Fraud Suspect in Ondo

The Ondo State Police Command has arrested four persons over the alleged assault, public humiliation and cyberbullying of a resident, Temidayo Boluwaji.
The assault, which occurred on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 was recorded and circulated on social media.
It was gathered that the Boluwaji was accused of making fake transfer to a Point of Sales (POS) operator.
In the viral video, some angry youths were seen assaulting the victim, forcing him to dance with the POS machine on his head.
The spokesperson for the command, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, who confirmed the incident in a statement said the arrests followed a complaint lodged by the victim at the Okuta Elerinla Police Station on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at about 2 p.m.
According to the PPRO, the complainant alleged that he was physically assaulted by a group of persons who recorded the incident without his consent and uploaded the footage on various social media platforms.
Jimoh stated that the command immediately launched a discreet investigation, leading to the arrest of Gbemisola Ariyo, Babatunde Eniola, Adams Tobiloba and Fasusi Bunmi, who were alleged to have participated in the assault.
The command condemned the growing trend of individuals taking the law into their own hands by assaulting, humiliating or publicly parading persons suspected of committing offences.
