Fowoseje Comprehensive High School, Ago-Iwoye, has recorded a significant milestone in its history as the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) officially commenced the construction of a 108-seater, with 60 computer systems, smart monitor and a 72 interactive board with built-in cameras, multi-touch feature and ultra-modern Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Centre to enhance digital learning in the school.
The project, which is design-and built by One-cube Project Limited, is to provide students with access to 21st-century ICT facilities and modern digital learning tools, marks a major step toward bridging the digital divide in underserved communities and equipping young learners with the technological skills required to thrive in today’s global economy.
The official flag-off ceremony attracted a wide range of stakeholders, including officials from the Zonal Education Office, school administrators, teachers, PTA executives, community leaders, and other education stakeholders who gathered to witness the commencement of this landmark educational infrastructure.
Speaking on the significance of the project, Mr. Matilukuro Olanrewaju described the ICT Centre as a transformative intervention that will revolutionize teaching and learning at the school. Beyond providing students with practical digital skills, the facility will enable teachers to integrate innovative technology into classroom instruction, promote digital literacy, and prepare learners for computer-based examinations and future career opportunities.
For Fowoseje Comprehensive High School, an underserved public school committed to academic excellence despite limited resources, this intervention represents renewed hope and a strategic investment in the future of its students and the wider community.
The school community expressed profound appreciation to the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Abayomi Arigbabu, for facilitating the approval of the project. Appreciation was also extended to the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) for its visionary commitment to expanding access to quality digital education across Nigeria.
As work begins on the ICT Centre, stakeholders remain optimistic that the facility will become a hub for innovation, digital skills development, and educational excellence, empowering students with the knowledge and competencies needed to succeed in the 21st-century digital world.
