Orimolusi of Ijebu Igbo Celebrates Prof. Ayo Ogunye at 84, Hails His Enduring Legacy of Scholarship and Community Service

The Orimolusi of Ijebu Igbo, His Royal Majesty, Alayeluwa Oba Lawrence Jaiyeoba Adebajo, Ojuromi VI, has extended warm congratulations to renowned scholar, engineer, author and cultural icon, Professor Ayodele Francis Ogunye, DSc, FAEng, on the occasion of his 84th birthday, describing him as one of the greatest intellectual assets of Ijebu Igbo.
In a goodwill message released to commemorate the milestone, the revered monarch praised Professor Ogunye for his lifelong dedication to scholarship, cultural preservation, literary excellence, engineering, community service and the overall development of Ijebu Igbo Kingdom.
According to the monarch, Professor Ogunye’s exceptional achievements extend far beyond academia, noting that he has consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the progress and advancement of his hometown through his intellectual contributions, wise counsel and passionate advocacy for initiatives that promote the collective interests of the kingdom.
Kabiyesi also commended the elder statesman for his outstanding role in documenting and preserving the history, culture and values of Ijebu Igbo, describing him as a worthy custodian of the community’s rich heritage and a bridge between its proud past and promising future.
The revered royal father noted that Professor Ogunye’s voice has continued to inspire meaningful conversations and developmental initiatives, while serving as a source of enlightenment for younger generations.
“At 84, Professor Ayo Francis Ogunye remains a shining example of excellence, humility, patriotism and selfless service. His remarkable life reminds us that true greatness is measured not only by personal achievements but by the enduring impact we make on our people and our communities. Ijebu Igbo is proud to call him one of her finest sons, and we are immensely grateful for his invaluable contributions to the development and progress of our Kingdom,” the monarch stated.
The Orimolusi prayed for God’s continued blessings upon the celebrated professor, asking for good health, renewed strength, wisdom and many more fruitful years in service to humanity, scholarship and the continued advancement of Ijebu Igbo Kingdom.
