Three suspected motorcycle thieves were reportedly caught in Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State, early morning on Wednesday, August 13, 2026.
According to eyewitnesses, the three suspects were apprehended in connection with alleged motorcycle theft in the community. One named Damola as they were reportedly taken to the palace of the Oba Abijaparako of Japara for further proceedings.
Residents have expressed relief over the development, particularly amid growing concerns over the alleged increase in motorcycle theft within Ijebu-Igbo.
An eyewitness said the suspects may not be acting alone, as there are concerns that other individuals could be involved in the alleged thefts.
Residents are therefore calling for a thorough investigation to uncover the wider network behind the reported motorcycle thefts and for other suspected perpetrators to be apprehended.

The rate of Okada theft in Ijebu-Igbo over the past few months has become alarming, with more than 100 cases reportedly recorded within the period.
According to an eyewitness, the two suspects recently apprehended are reportedly indigenes of Ijebu-Igbo who currently reside in Ijebu-Ode.
The eyewitness also claimed that other suspects allegedly linked to the motorcycle thefts are currently being hunted, with efforts ongoing to apprehend them.
