House of Rep Member, Hon Adegbesan Repairs Vandalised Cables, Restores Electricity to Ojowo Area in Ijebu Igbo, After Three Months of Darkness

IJEBU-IGBO, OGUN STATE — Residents of Itale-Ojowo Community in Ijebu-Igbo, Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State, have expressed appreciation to the Member of the House of Representatives representing Ijebu North/Ijebu East/Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency, Hon. Joseph Folorunsho Adegbesan, for helping to restore electricity to the area after about three months without power.
The blackout started after the community’s transformer was vandalised by suspected thieves, who reportedly removed important cables and other parts of the transformer worth millions of naira.
The incident affected homes, businesses and other activities in the community, leaving residents without electricity for about three months.
Following appeals from residents, Hon. Adegbesan intervened and personally funded the repair of the damaged transformer and the replacement of the vandalised cables.
The repairs were completed, and electricity was restored to the Itale-Ojowo community yesterday, bringing an end to the long period of darkness.
The restoration of power was met with excitement among residents, who welcomed the return of electricity to their homes and businesses.
Some residents said the prolonged blackout had caused serious difficulties, especially for business owners who depended on electricity to operate their businesses.
They thanked Hon. Adegbesan for responding to their concerns and taking action to restore power to the community.
Residents also described the intervention as an example of leadership that responds directly to the needs of the people, especially at the grassroots.
They commended the lawmaker for taking action without waiting for the situation to become worse, saying his intervention had provided much-needed relief to the community.
Hon. Adegbesan is also the APC candidate for Ijebu North/Ijebu East/Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency for the 2027 general election.
The restoration of electricity in Itale-Ojowo is one of the recent interventions linked to Hon. Adegbesan in efforts to address some of the challenges facing residents across the federal constituency.
