25th Coronation Anniversary: Oba Ibitoye Solaja Announces Series of Events to Celebrate Royal Milestone in Atikori

His Royal Highness, Oba Ibitoye Solaja, FICMC, JP, Majasan Oriyonote I, Kegbo of Atikori, Ijebu-Igbo, is set to mark his 25th Coronation Anniversary with a series of activities celebrating his years of royal service, cultural heritage and community development.

The anniversary, themed “25 Years of Royal Service; Preserving Heritage, Advancing Development,” will feature cultural, religious, sporting and community-development activities across Atikori, Ijebu-Igbo.

According to the programme released for the celebration, activities will begin with an Interfaith Prayer and Fellowship on December 1, 2026, featuring Muslim Prayer and Tafsir from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, followed by Christian Praise and Worship from 4:00 p.m. The programme will hold at Oriyonote Hall, Four Road, Atikori, Ijebu-Igbo.

The celebration will continue with a Trade Fair and Community Exhibition on December 3, starting from 8:00 a.m. until evening at Four Road, Atikori.

On December 4, the Royal Palace and Civic Development Day will take place, including the foundation-laying ceremony for the Atikori Royal Palace and Civic Centre at Osun Road behind Fadama Market, Oke Alafia, Atikori.

The day will also feature the commissioning of Fadama Market at 12:00 noon and the reception of Ikaro from new chiefs at 3:00 p.m. at the Oba Ibitoye Solaja Royal Palace.

The Grand Finale on December 5 will feature the 25th Coronation Anniversary celebration, fundraising for the Atikori Royal Palace and Civic Centre, book launching and the installation of a new chieftaincy title. The event is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. till evening at Kegbo Comprehensive High School Field, Atikori, Ijebu-Igbo.

The celebration will come to a close with Thanksgiving and Reception on December 6 at St. James Anglican Church, Four Road, Atikori, Ijebu-Igbo. The thanksgiving ceremony is scheduled for the church, while the reception will follow immediately at St. James Anglican Hall.

Another major highlight of the programme is the Isese Day celebration on December 30, which will feature cultural dance performances, masquerade performances, traditional and cultural events at Oriyonote Hall, Four Road, Atikori.

There will also be a Quiz Competition and Football Match at Kegbo Comprehensive High School, Atikori, as part of the activities.

Coronation Clothes Available for Sale

As part of preparations for the grand celebration, official coronation clothes are also available for sale to members of the public who wish to identify with and support the 25th Coronation Anniversary celebration.

Residents, sons and daughters of Atikori, Ijebu-Igbo and well-wishers are invited to participate in the various activities and join the royal family in celebrating 25 years of royal service, cultural preservation and community development.
