Plans are underway for the construction of a modern shopping complex comprising 90 shops at Obada Market, Ijebu Igbo, with the project reportedly commence today and be completed within ten weeks.
Information gathered by MarvelTvUpdates indicates that the project was facilitated by Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, who is the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2027 Governorship Candidate in Ogun State.
A video circulating yesterday showed the Orimolusi of Ijebu Igbo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Jaiyeoba Lawrence Adebajo, Ojuromi VI, alongside market leaders, including the Babalojas and Iyalojas, as well as other dignitaries, inspecting the Obada Market in Ijebu Igbo.
The visit comes amid developments surrounding the proposed construction of a modern shopping complex at the market.
The development follows the circulation of a video showing the demolition of some structures at the market, sparking questions among residents and traders about the purpose of the exercise.
According to information available to MarvelTvUpdates, the proposed shopping complex is expected to provide 90 modern shops, while another phase of the project is reportedly being planned for next year.
The initiative is expected to transform part of the market’s existing infrastructure. However, further details regarding the project design, allocation of shops, arrangements for affected traders and the official commissioning timeline are yet to be independently confirmed.
The information was obtained from one of Senator Yayi’s media aides.
MarvelTvUpdates will continue to monitor developments and provide further updates as more verified information becomes available.
