Ned Nwoko, senator representing Delta north, has accused his wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, of drug and alcohol abuse.
His comments followed a viral video on Saturday showing a tearful Daniels being comforted by friends as she alleged mistreatment in their marriage
“In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing, but in my house, I am a queen. Not again, I cannot stand the violence, it is too much,” Daniels said in the video, which sparked widespread public concern.
Responding to the viral clip in a post on X, @Prince_NedNwoko denied the allegations of domestic abuse and claimed instead that his wife’s addiction to drugs and alcohol had become the “root of our problem”.
“Regina was not always like this. Her current battle with drugs and alcohol abuse is the root of our problem. She must continue her rehabilitation programme, or I fear for her life and safety,” Nwoko wrote.
The lawmaker alleged that Daniels had recently moved to a place where she could have “unrestricted access to drugs”, adding that her violent behaviour in recent days had targeted both household staff and property
