Botu Community Primary School, Odobotu, Oke Sopen, Ijebu Igbo, has celebrated its 35th Founders’ Day, marking over three decades of educational service since its establishment in January 1990 by the Odobotu community.
The celebration brought together notable alumni, community leaders and stakeholders dedicated to improving the standard of education in the community. Among the dignitaries was Dr. Bosun Ogundipe, an illustrious son of Odobotu, who attended the event with his friends.
A historic moment unfolded when representatives of the Old Students’ Association, led by Hon. Olamide Idowu Orlando, donated complete sets of uniforms to all pupils of the school. In a symbolic move to reconnect the institution with its heritage, the association also restored the original school uniform worn in the early years after the school’s founding. This gesture, they said, was aimed at preserving the legacy and identity of Botu Community Primary School.
As part of his commitment to the school’s development, Dr. Bosun Ogundipe commissioned a newly built standard toilet facility for the pupils and staff. In addition, he proposes plans to establish a modern school library to support academic growth in the near future.
The pupils of Botu Community Primary School, Odobotu, thrilled guests with vibrant cultural dances and artistic displays, adding colour and excitement to the celebration.
Other attendees at the ceremony included the PTA Chairman, Mr. Adetayo Adediran; the Chairman of Odobotu Youth Forum, Mr. Tosin Adedeji, Mr Gani, Community elders, Parents and several alumni members who contributed to the success of the event.
The Founders’ Day celebration reaffirmed the community’s collective commitment to sustaining quality education and supporting the next generation of learners in Odobotu.
