Billionaire Adedeji Adeleke, father of Afrobeats star David Adeleke (Davido), has spoken publicly on the long-running controversy surrounding alleged DNA claims involving a young woman identified as Anu.
Adeleke said the renewed attention followed a message he received from the sister of Anu’s mother, who clarified that recent social media posts attributed to Anu were not run by Anu or her mother, but by Kemi Oluloyo they reportedly cut ties with years ago.
According to him, the relative apologised for any embarrassment caused and explained that attempts had previously been made to stop the individual from posting about the matter.
Adeleke disclosed that after seeing the issue resurface online, he contacted Davido and decided it was time to state the family’s position publicly.
He said he had always advised his son to ignore the allegations, noting that the individual making the claims had, in his words, been publicly disowned by her own son.
Addressing the substance of the matter, Adeleke stressed that his family has no issue accepting another child but maintained that science must determine the truth.
“I have 14 grandchildren,” he said. “If science and DNA prove that she is my granddaughter, I will gladly accept her.”
He added that the family’s position is based strictly on evidence, not social media narratives, emphasising that DNA results are the only basis on which the claim can be resolved.
