The Federation of Ijebu Igbo Students’ Union (FIISU), through the Office of the General Secretary in collaboration with the Office of the Vice President, successfully organized a Career Summit and Spelling Bee Competition aimed at inspiring students and promoting academic excellence.
The impactful event, held at Molusi College Chapel Hall, brought together students from various secondary schools across the region, alongside distinguished guests and speakers, all committed to nurturing the next generation.
The program commenced with arrival and registration of participants, followed by an opening prayer and the rendition of the national anthem. Attendees were officially welcomed with a warm address that set the tone for a day focused on purpose, growth, and opportunity.
The first lecture was delivered by Comrade Zakariyau Nofiu, who spoke on “Building and Following Your Dreams as a Student.” His session encouraged students to stay focused, disciplined, and committed to their ambitions despite challenges.
This was followed by the preliminary stage of the Spelling Bee competition, where students showcased impressive linguistic skills and confidence.

In the second lecture, Brother Comrade AbdulQadir Lawal delivered an insightful presentation on “Navigating the Future with Technology as a Student.” His engaging delivery emphasized the importance of digital skills and adaptability in today’s evolving world.
The competition intensified with the Quarter Final stage of the Spelling Bee, keeping the audience captivated.
Comrade Senbadejo Olawale then took the stage for the third lecture, where he encouraged students to remain resilient and dedicated to their educational journey, reinforcing the importance of perseverance.
The event reached its peak during the final stage of the Spelling Bee competition, where the best students competed for top honors. At the end of the contest, Itamerin Comprehensive High School, Oru emerged as the overall winner, securing first position. Ago Iwoye Secondary School came in second place, while Molusi College finished in third position.
Awards and prizes were presented to deserving participants, celebrating their hard work and excellence.
The event concluded with closing remarks, a vote of thanks, and a closing prayer, marking the end of a successful and memorable gathering.
Participating schools included Methodist High School, Shamsudeen Grammar School, Itamerin Comprehensive High School Oru, Molusi College, Mercy Model School, Japara High School, Fowoseje Comprehensive School, and Ago Iwoye Secondary School.
A major highlight of the event was the recognition of distinguished guests and dignitaries who graced the occasion. The Mother of the Day, Alhaja Alebiosu Falilat, the Chairman of the Day, Alhaji Abdul Azeez Balogun (CEO, Boa Hide & Skin), and the Chairlady of the Day, Alhaja Fatimo Agbarawu were all duly honored for their support and contributions.
The Special Guest of Honour, High Chief Alhaji Lawal Olawale Abiodun Abinugbola, the Oluomo of Ijebu Igbo, was also recognized, alongside invited guests including Hon. Jakeusola Olasupo, Comrade Ajisbe Abdul-Lateef Ajibola, and Comrade Abdul Azeez Yusuf.
Although some of the dignitaries were not physically present throughout the program, they were ably represented, and their goodwill messages and speeches were delivered by their representatives, who commended FIISU for the initiative and encouraged students to strive for excellence.
Awards and prizes were presented not only to the winning schools but also to honored guests and contributors, acknowledging their roles in making the event a success.
Many students and guests expressed joy and gratitude to FIISU for organizing such a meaningful and impactful program, noting that the summit not only broadened their knowledge but also inspired them to pursue their goals with renewed determination.
The event truly lived up to its theme: “Igniting Purpose: Creating Career Clarity for the Next Generation.”
