Oluomo of Ijebu Igbo, High Chief Abiodun Lawal Abinugbola, Earns MSc in Public Administration from OOU, Sets Sights on PhD

The Oluomo of Ijebu Igbo, High Chief Alhaji Abiodun Olawale Lawal Abinugbola, has successfully earned a Master of Science (MSc) in Public Administration from Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), marking another significant milestone in his academic journey.

Sharing the achievement on his official Facebook page, the respected community leader reflected on the popular saying, “School is a scam,” explaining that while education alone may not guarantee success, ignorance is never an advantage.

According to him, many successful and wealthy families continue to invest heavily in quality education for their children because knowledge, skills, and continuous learning remain essential in today’s competitive world.

He emphasized that although education is not the only route to success, it remains one of the most dependable ways to expand opportunities, sharpen critical thinking, and prepare for greater responsibilities.

Explaining his decision to return to school, High Chief Abiodun Ismail Lawal Abinugbola revealed that he enrolled in the MSc programme two years ago with a determination to keep learning and improving himself.

He wrote:

“You may not have chosen the family you were born into, but you can influence the legacy you leave behind. It is with this mindset that I decided to return to school two years ago. Today, I successfully defended my research project and completed my MSc programme.

“This achievement has reinforced my belief that money alone is not enough. Education adds value, broadens perspective and equips you for greater responsibilities. If you have the opportunity to further your education, don’t let age, circumstances, or past setbacks stop you. Keep learning, keep growing and keep investing in yourself.”

High Chief Abiodun Lawal Abinugbola’s academic qualifications now include:

National Diploma (ND) in Accounting – Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Business Administration – Babcock University
Master of Science (MSc.) in Public Administration – Olabisi Onabanjo University

He also disclosed that he has already set his sights on the next academic milestone, with a PhD in view.
