2027 Elections: APC Uploads Governorship Candidates to INEC Portal, Yayi, Hamzat, Sharafadeen Alli Among Nominees

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has uploaded the names and particulars of its governorship candidates and their running mates for the 2027 general elections to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal, following the resolution of disputes arising from the party’s governorship primaries.
According to information available, internal issues surrounding the governorship primaries in states where the contests were initially contentious have now been resolved, paving the way for the submission of candidates.
Governorship elections are expected to hold in 28 states across the country. The APC has successfully uploaded its candidates for 27 states, with only one state’s submission still pending.
Among the notable candidates are Obafemi Hamzat for Lagos State, Solomon Adeola (Yayi) for Ogun State, Sharafadeen Alli for Oyo State, Kingsley Chinda for Rivers State, Mohammed Abubakar for Bauchi State, Hyacinth Alia for Benue State, Sheriff Oborevwori for Delta State, Peter Mbah for Enugu State, Abba Yusuf for Kano State, Dikko Radda for Katsina State, Umar Bago for Niger State, Caleb Mutfwang for Plateau State, Umo Eno for Akwa Ibom State, Dauda Lawal for Zamfara State, and Ahmed Aliyu for Sokoto State, among others.

- Mustapha Gubio – Borno
- Jamilu Gwamna – Gombe
- Aliyu Wadada – Nasarawa
- Baba Malam Wali – Yobe
- Bassey Otu – Cross River
- Francis Nwifuru – Ebonyi
- Umar Namadi – Jigawa
- Nasir Idris – Kebbi
The submission of candidates marks another key milestone in the APC’s preparations for the 2027 governorship elections as political parties continue to position themselves ahead of the polls.
