The Executive Chairman of Ijebu North Local Government, Hon Dr. Bolaji Odusanya, has announced the commencement of emergency road maintenance across major roads in the council area affected by the heavy rainfall recorded in July 2026.
According to the chairman, the intervention is aimed at improving road conditions, enhancing public safety and ensuring smoother movement for residents and motorists across the local government.
The ongoing maintenance works have already commenced on the Molusi College Road (Mercy Model portion) in Ijebu-Igbo, with work crews deployed to repair damaged sections of the road.
Hon. Odusanya appealed to motorists and other road users to drive with caution while the repairs are ongoing, urging commuters to be patient and cooperate with traffic officials and construction workers to ensure a smooth flow of traffic.
He reiterated the commitment of the Ijebu North Local Government administration to delivering infrastructure that improves the quality of life of residents, stressing that developmental projects capable of promoting economic growth and public welfare will continue to receive priority attention.
The council assured residents that efforts are being intensified to restore affected roads and make them safer and more accessible following the impact of the recent heavy rains.
