Golden Phoenix Elite For Under 13s And Under 15s Youth Cup 2026: Ijebu North East Baptist, Golden Boot U-13 Book Final Spots

The semi-final matches of the Golden Phoenix Elite for Under 13s and Under 15s Youth Cup 2026 were played today at Shamsudeen Grammar School, Oke Agbo, Ijebu-Igbo, with two teams booking their places in the U-13 grand final.

The matches produced exciting youth football action as the young players displayed skill, determination and passion in their fight for a place in the final.

IJEBU NORTH EAST BAPTIST U-13 1–0 MOON STAR U-13

In the first semi-final, Ijebu North East Baptist U-13 secured a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Moon Star U-13.

The first half ended goalless, despite both teams creating several scoring opportunities.

After the restart, Adedayo Bukunmi broke the deadlock with a brilliant finish to give Ijebu North East Baptist U-13 the lead.

Moon Star pushed for an equaliser, but the Baptist side held on to secure the victory and book a place in the grand final.

Bukunmi was later named Man of the Match after scoring the only goal of the game.

GOLDEN BOOT U-13 3–1 GOLDEN PHOENIX U-13

The second semi-final saw Golden Boot U-13 defeat Golden Phoenix U-13 3–1 in an entertaining encounter.

Boniface Emmanuel opened the scoring for Golden Boot U-13 before half-time.

Golden Phoenix responded in the second half through Okubanjo Boluwatife, who equalised following an error from the Golden Boot goalkeeper.

The match later produced a dramatic moment when the Golden Boot U-13 coach received a red card after directing abusive words towards the referee.

Golden Boot, however, regained control of the match as Boniface Emmanuel scored again to complete his brace and restore his team’s lead.

Boluwatife Awoyemi then extended the advantage with a brilliant direct free-kick to make it 3–1.

Golden Boot U-13 held on to the lead until the final whistle and secured their place in the grand final.

Boniface Emmanuel was named Man of the Match after his impressive two-goal performance.

FINAL SET FOR SEPTEMBER 11

Following the completion of the semi-finals, Ijebu North East Baptist U-13 and Golden Boot U-13 will meet in the grand final.

The final of the Golden Phoenix Elite for Under 13s and Under 15s Youth Cup 2026 will take place on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Shamsudeen Grammar School, Oke Agbo, Ijebu-Igbo.

The final promises to be another exciting day of youth football as both teams battle for the championship.
