Senator Lekan Mustapha (SLM) CON has been appointed as the Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign for the 2027 General Election in Ogun State.
The appointment is widely seen as a recognition of his exceptional leadership qualities, wealth of political experience, dedication and unwavering commitment to the growth and success of the party.
Senator Mustapha previously served as the Director-General of the Ogun APC campaign during the 2023 general elections, where his strategic leadership, political experience and organisational capacity contributed significantly to the party’s strong performance at the polls.
His return to the pivotal position ahead of the 2027 election is expected to provide the Ogun APC campaign with experienced leadership and strategic direction as the party prepares for another major electoral contest.
The appointment also underscores the confidence placed in Senator Mustapha’s ability to coordinate party stakeholders, mobilise supporters and strengthen the APC’s campaign structure across the state.
Recall, Senator Lekan Mustapha is a seasoned Nigerian politician and public servant who began his political journey as Chairman of Ijebu North Local Government (1996–1997), served in the House of Representatives from 2003–2007, represented Ogun East in the Senate from 2007–2011, served on the Nigeria Ports Authority board and returned to the Senate in 2019–2023 on the APC platform.
Senator Ramoni Olalekan Mustapha (SLM) is a proud indigene of Aleke, Oke-Sopen, Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State, where he was born on February 25, 1960.
He was bestowed with the prestigious traditional title of Asiwaju of Ijebu-Igbo by the revered Paramount Ruler of Ijebu-Igbo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Jaiyeoba Lawrence Adedeji Adebajo, Ojuromi VI, Orimolusi of Ijebu-Igbo.
