THE Independent National Electoral Commission has declared Valentine Ozigbo as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the November 6 Anambra governorship election.
The Electoral Commission on July 16 and August 19 published the list of candidates for the Anambra election with no candidate listed for PDP.
INEC National Commissioner and chairman (Information and Voter Education Committee), Festus Okoye, in a statement in Abuja, on Thursday, said the commission decided to recognize Ozigbo based on the latest Appeal Court order.
According to Okoye, INEC has also listed Lilian Enemo as the party’s Deputy governorship candidate, making it two candidates
Okoye said, “The commission was served with two judgments of the Court of Appeal (Awka Judicial Division) in respect of the candidature of the PDP for the Anambra governorship election.
“The court has ordered the commission to recognize and publish the name of Valentine Ozigbo as the governorship candidate.”
