INLG Chair, Hon Bolaji Odusanya Sponsors Life-Changing Eye Care Program for Ijebu North Residents (PHOTOS)

The Executive Chairman of Ijebu North Local Government, Mr Bolaji Odusanya on Monday flagged off a 1-Day Free Cataract surgery, free glasses, Free eye test with subsidized eyes drop for the residents of Ijebu North.

The Council chairman who was represented by the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon Adeniyi Sojirin at the event charges the people to prioritise their health and to always go for regular check up at the nearest clinic.

Bolaji Odusanya through the Local Government Secretary said the program was part of the several efforts of their administration aimed at providing free medical services to the people in Ijebu North Local Government.

He also appreciated the people for standing by him at the last polls as he reminded them that the program was one of his campaign promises during his team and party’s campaign for the 2024 Local Government Elections.

The free eye test, surgery, distribution of free eye glasses and subsidized eye drop was in partnership with KH ( Kunle Hassan) Eye Foundation Academy.

The programme, which was held at the Local Government Secretariat in Ijebu Igbo, had over 250 persons in attendance with free eye test being done for over 200 while over 120 received free eye glasses, more than 60 got subsidized eye drop and over 30 people are expected for the free cataract surgeries.

“This is the second time in the year 2025 that our administration would be coming up with free eye test, free glasses distribution, eye drops and cataract surgery”

“Before today, we partnered with Saint Mary’s Eye Hospital in Ago Iwoye where over 200 were tested for free while over 150 people who were in need of free glasses and medication
were attended to and sponsored by our administration”

“We shall continue to impact the lives of our people positively through interventions like this by ensuring immediate access to quality healthcare,” Bolaji said.

The event was witnessed by the Head of Local Government Administration, Prince Wale Banjo, DGSA, Mr Soneye, Ijebu North Health Secretary, Dr Ayanlaja Motunrayo, Members of the Local Government Executive Council ably led by the SLG, Hon Adeniyi Sojirin and members of the KH Eye Foundation Academy ably led by Dr Emilolar.
