The Chairman of Ijebu North Local Government, Hon Dr. Omobolaji Oluwaseun Odusanya has presented the 2026 Appropriation Bill, tagged “The Budget of Reality,” to the Legislative Council for consideration.
Speaking before legislators, career officers, executive members, political leaders, traditional and religious leaders, and residents, the Chairman said the proposed budget is designed to reform people-friendly policies and promote sustainable development across the local government.
He disclosed that the total size of the 2026 budget proposal stands at N17,301,048,410. The breakdown includes N8,177,400,000 for capital expenditure, N2,025,978,410 for personnel costs, N5,997,000,000 for Consolidated Revenue Fund Charges and social contributions, and N1,100,670,000 for overhead costs.

According to him, the budget will not only consolidate ongoing projects but also strengthen development efforts in Ijebu North.
The Chairman announced that Phase One of road reconstruction will begin in Ifelodun Constituency, covering Olowonimoyin Road and CAC Road. He also revealed plans to install a solar mini-grid at the Local Government Secretariat to reduce dependence on the national power grid and ensure stable electricity supply.
In addition, several roads across the eleven wards will be graded, while new culverts will be constructed to reconnect villages and streets within the council area.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to policies that will boost economic growth, improve infrastructure, and strengthen security of lives and property.
The Chairman appreciated security agencies, traditional rulers, political and religious leaders, and investors for their continued support. He also commended the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, for his contributions to the development of the state.
He concluded by praying for continued progress for Ijebu North Local Government, Ogun State, and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
