PDL AFRICA, one of Nigeria’s fast-growing premium fashion brands, is set to celebrate its 15th anniversary with a grand legacy event that will bring together fashion, culture, music, entrepreneurship and business networking.
The anniversary celebration will highlight the remarkable journey of the brand from a small one-room business founded by Oladimeji Ogunnaike during his days as a 400-level student at Olabisi Onabanjo University, to a recognized fashion brand with a vision for industrial growth, factory expansion and youth empowerment.
The event will feature a fashion showcase, carnival experience, live music performances, business networking sessions, entrepreneurial discussions, vendor exhibitions and industry collaborations. Organizers say the celebration is designed to inspire young entrepreneurs, promote creativity and create new opportunities for businesses and talents across Nigeria.
Speaking about the journey, the story of PDL AFRICA reflects determination, sacrifice and resilience. The brand was founded by Oladimeji Ogunnaike while he was still an undergraduate. In the early stages, he worked and lived under difficult conditions while striving to build the business.
As production demands increased, a single room was no longer enough, forcing him to rent additional spaces to continue operations. At one point, he converted an unfinished kitchen into his living space so that his room could be used entirely for fashion production.
Despite numerous challenges and limited resources, the brand continued to grow steadily. From operating in cramped spaces, PDL AFRICA gradually expanded into a larger workspace, building experience, customer trust and a strong reputation within the Nigerian fashion industry.
Today, after 15 years of consistency, innovation and hard work, PDL AFRICA stands as a growing African fashion brand with a long-term vision of establishing a standard fashion factory, empowering young creatives, contributing to industrial development and building lasting structures that will positively impact future generations.
The 15th anniversary celebration is expected to serve as both a reflection on the brand’s inspiring journey and a platform for future growth, collaboration and opportunities within Nigeria’s fashion and creative industries.
