The Chairman of Ijebu North Local Government, Hon. Dr Omobolaji Odusanya has reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property following a high-level security meeting held at the Local Government Secretariat in Ijebu-Igbo.
The meeting, which brought together key security stakeholders across the local government area, focused on strengthening the security architecture of Ijebu North amid growing concerns over safety and public security.
Discussions centered on enhancing regular school patrols and surveillance, improving border security, and tightening security around identified flashpoints within the local government. Participants also reviewed strategies aimed at preventing crime and ensuring rapid response to security threats.
The Chairman commended the dedication and proactive efforts of security agencies operating within Ijebu North, expressing appreciation for their continued service and collaboration in maintaining peace and order across the area.
Emphasizing that security is a collective responsibility, he urged residents to avoid spreading fake news and misinformation, stressing the importance of verifying sensitive information before sharing it. He also encouraged members of the public to embrace the principle of “See Something, Say Something” by promptly reporting suspicious activities to relevant authorities.

Among those in attendance were the Area Commander of the Ijebu-Igbo Police Area Command, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), Divisional Officers (DOs) of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Director of the Department of State Services (DSS), officials of the Nigeria Immigration Service, and the Amotekun Corps Commander.
The Chairman assured residents that the local government would continue working closely with security agencies to enhance safety and fulfill its responsibility of protecting lives and property throughout Ijebu North.
