“He Said I Would Die Today” — Tope Osoba’s Aunties Reveal Her Final Moments, Alleged Abuse by Shepherd Man-Friend in Interview with Kunle Afod

The aunties of late Yoruba actress Tope Osoba have spoken about the actress’ final moments and what they described as the troubling circumstances surrounding her death.
The family members made the revelations during an interview with actor Kunle Afod, where they recounted their efforts to care for Tope after she underwent cancer surgery in 2024.
According to them, the family took Tope to the hospital in 2024 for her cancer surgery and made arrangements for proper aftercare to prevent infection.
They said that on the day Tope was expected to be discharged, they arrived at the hospital around 5 p.m. but were informed that she had already been discharged to Foluke Daramola and a shepherd she was dating.
The aunties claimed that the family became suspicious and worried because they believed the shepherd was interested in money donated to Tope by Nigerians.
They said they tried to contact Tope but discovered that she had blocked them, including her grandparents.
According to the family, they went to the house where Tope was staying but met her personal assistant, who told them that the actress was not around.
They said Tope did not contact any member of the family again from 2024 until the early hours of Tuesday, the day she died.
The aunties said Tope called one of them, identified as Aunty Peju, around 5 a.m.
According to them, Tope said: “Aunty Peju, I am coming to your house now. I will die today. Bury me with my mum.”
They said the actress ended the call immediately, leaving them deeply worried.
Shortly afterwards, a woman reportedly contacted the family and asked them to come because Tope was not feeling well.
The family claimed they later discovered that Tope had been staying with the woman for about two weeks.
They said they were informed that Tope and the woman planned to visit Prophetess Kehinde’s church in Ikorodu for prayers.
The aunties further alleged that, about two weeks earlier, the shepherd had asked Tope to leave his house and go to Iperu while he dealt with some personal matters. They also claimed he instructed her to tell people that their relationship had ended two months earlier.
The family said they were on their way to meet Tope at the church when they were informed that she had been taken to a police station.
At the police station, the aunties said Tope told them that she had been unable to sleep for several days because she kept seeing the shepherd and what she described as monsters whenever she closed her eyes.
They further alleged that Tope told them the shepherd had said she would die that day and that he would eventually see her obituary.
According to the family, Tope also alleged that the shepherd had taken all her money, pushed her away and married another woman.
The aunties said Tope became emotional and claimed she had been humiliated and abused during her time with the shepherd.
They also alleged that Tope revealed that she had lost three pregnancies.
The family said they bought meat pie for her at the police station, after which she ate and changed her clothes.
They later proceeded to the prophetess’ church but reportedly waited for about two hours without seeing her.
The aunties said Tope continued mentioning the shepherd’s name and expressing fears that she would die, prompting them to take her to a nearby Celestial Church for prayers.
After the prayers, Tope reportedly requested cold water and a soft drink.
The family said she later developed stomach problems and vomited.
According to them, the church advised them to find time to perform “Irapada” for her.
They then entered their vehicle and headed towards Sagamu.
While on the road, the aunties said Tope complained that she was feeling hot from inside. They also said she was sending messages to people, allegedly explaining what she claimed she had experienced at the shepherd’s house.
When they reached Coca-Cola Junction, Tope reportedly posted “Ogo Tuntun” on her WhatsApp status at about 7:30 p.m.
The family said she later requested cold water again but eventually refused it, while repeatedly saying that she was uncomfortable and did not know what was happening to her.
They rushed her to a hospital, where she was examined and referred to another hospital.
According to the aunties, Tope’s condition deteriorated while they were on their way to the second hospital.
They said she began stretching, defecated and later stopped responding when they called her name.
When they eventually arrived at the hospital, medical personnel came to the vehicle and examined her.
The family said Tope was subsequently declared brought in dead (BID).
The allegations made by Tope’s aunties have not been independently verified, and the individuals mentioned in their account have not publicly responded to all the claims.
The family is calling for the circumstances surrounding Tope Osoba’s death and the events leading to her final moments to be properly established.
