The Ijebu Association of Washington DC Metropolitan Area has expressed profound appreciation to Alayeluwa Oba Dr. Mufutau Adesesan Yusuf, Erinkitola 1, Sopenlukale of Oke-Sopen, Ijebu-Igbo, for his recent visit to the Ijebu community in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area during his vacation in the United States.
In an appreciation message signed by the President of the association, Chief Mrs. Bolanle Akinsanya Opanuga, also known as Yeye Bobagbimo of Oke-Sopen, Ijebu-Igbo, the association described the royal visit as a memorable and highly appreciated gesture that strengthened the bond between the traditional institution and members of the Ijebu community in the diaspora.
The association expressed gratitude to the monarch for taking time out of his schedule to interact with and spend time with members of the community during his stay in the United States.
According to the message, the association also thanked Almighty God for granting the monarch a safe and successful journey back home after his visit.
“May God continue to preserve Your Majesty, grant you abundant wisdom and strength, and bless your reign with peace and enduring accomplishments,” the association prayed.
The association further expressed its desire to welcome the monarch back to the United States in the future, while reaffirming its respect and commitment to the traditional institution.
The message concluded with warm royal greetings: “Kabiyesi, Ẹ kú àbẹ̀wò, Ẹ kú àbẹ̀pàdà.”
The appreciation underscores the importance of maintaining strong relationships between Ijebu communities at home and in the diaspora, while promoting unity, cultural heritage and mutual support among the people.
