Gospel music minister Nathaniel Bassey has reportedly declined to monetise his globally renowned Hallelujah Challenge, reaffirming commitment to maintaining its spiritual purity over financial gain.
The October 2025 edition of the midnight worship event, streamed live on YouTube to millions worldwide, continues to run without advertisements or monetisation despite Bassey’s channel having over 1.5 million subscribers.
Since launching the Hallelujah Challenge in 2017, Bassey has maintained that he received divine instruction not to commercialise the programme — a decision estimated to have cost him over ₦1.4 billion in potential revenue.
Reactions have been mixed, with many commending his steadfastness and integrity, while others have suggested monetizing the platform to fund charitable causes.
Despite the differing opinions, Bassey has remained resolute in his stance, emphasizing that the Hallelujah Challenge exists solely to inspire worship and unite believers across the world, free from commercial influence.
