President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced the successful rescue of all 38 worshippers abducted during the recent attack on a CAC church in Eruku, Kwara State.
In a statement released on Sunday, the President expressed relief and gratitude to Nigeria’s security agencies for what he described as a coordinated and determined operation.
The President reminded Nigerians that he cancelled his scheduled trip to the G20 Summit in South Africa to focus fully on the security crisis at home. According to him, the decision was necessary to ensure swift action and close monitoring of operations aimed at rescuing the victims.
“Thanks to the efforts of our security forces over the last few days, all the 38 worshippers abducted in Eruku, Kwara State have been rescued,” the President said.
Tinubu also revealed encouraging progress in Niger State, where 51 out of the students abducted from a Catholic school have now been recovered. He noted that he is receiving consistent updates from security operatives across all affected regions.
The President emphasized his commitment to ensuring the safety of every Nigerian regardless of where they reside.
“Let me be clear: I will not relent. Every Nigerian, in every state, has the right to safety and under my watch, we will secure this nation and protect our people,” he declared.
Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to combat insecurity, pledging continuous support to security agencies and renewed efforts to restore peace nationwide.
The successful rescues have sparked hope among citizens, particularly in the affected communities, where families have been anxiously awaiting positive outcomes.
As operations continue in Niger State and other regions battling similar challenges, Nigerians remain hopeful for the safe return of all remaining victims.
