Renowned gospel legend, Evangelist Deborah Adebola Fasoyin, well known as Mama Fasoyin, has passed away at the age of 86.
Born 1st of March, 1940 in Oyo State, Mama Fasoyin was widely recognized as the powerful voice behind the timeless Yoruba gospel song “Odun Nlo Sopin”,
Mama who was leader of the influential C.A.C Good Women Choir, Ibadan composed that song that for decades reminded Nigerians that the year was coming to an end and encouraged reflection, gratitude, and prayers for the future.
The evergreen track was a yearly tradition played as December approached, urging people to count their blessings and prepare spiritually for a new year.
Through her music, Mama Fasoyin touched countless lives and strengthened the faith of many listeners.
