A Brazil-Lagos based businessman, Mr. Olalekan Simon Oluwole, along with his wife and foreign family members, has filed a petition against some officers of the Nigeria Police Force over alleged harassment and brutality in Ijebu Igbo, Ogun State.
The petition, written by his lawyers, accused the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Topon Police Station, Ijebu-Igbo, CSP Akolade Oladejo, Officer Teju, Officer Senuga, Officer Wahab and their team officers for misconduct, including intimidation, assault and extortion.

According to the petition, the incident happened on December 31, 2025, along Ogbere Road in Ijebu-Igbo. Oluwole was said to be driving with his wife, son and mother-in-law, who are foreigners, when police officers stopped his vehicle.
The officers reportedly blocked his car and accused him of stealing his own vehicle, a Mercedes-Maybach S-Class. His lawyers claimed the officers did not ask for documents before labeling him a criminal.
The petition further stated that Oluwole was handcuffed, dragged and assaulted in public view. The incident was reportedly recorded by passersby and later shared on social media, causing embarrassment and damage to his reputation.
After several hours of questioning, the police allegedly found nothing incriminating and released him following intervention from members of the public.
Oluwole’s legal team described him as a respected businessman and said he did not deserve such treatment. They called on the Inspector General of Police to investigate the matter and ensure that any officer found guilty is punished.
The petition also warned that if such actions are not addressed, it could encourage further abuse of power by security officers.
The lawyers are now seeking justice for Oluwole and his family, while urging the authorities to take urgent action.
