The Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, on Friday formally presented the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2027 election, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi), FCA, and his running mate, Mrs. Kudirat Abiodun Balogun, to the Ijebu Traditional Council.
The historic presentation took place before the Ijebu Traditional Council, chaired by the Orimolusi of Ijebu Igbo, His Royal Majesty, Alayeluwa Oba Jaiyeoba Lawrence Adebajo Ojuromi VI and was attended by traditional rulers from across Ijebuland, alongside political leaders, government officials, party faithful and other distinguished personalities.
The event witnessed a large turnout of royal fathers, with virtually all traditional rulers in Ijebuland present to receive the APC governorship ticket holders ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Speaking during the gathering, Governor Dapo Abiodun reaffirmed the party’s confidence in Senator Adeola and his running mate, describing them as capable leaders who possess the experience and vision needed to sustain Ogun State’s developmental strides.
The atmosphere in Ijebu Ode was filled with excitement as residents, party supporters, and well-wishers turned out in large numbers to welcome the APC delegation. The reception reflected the growing support for Senator Adeola’s candidacy across the state.
The gathering also underscored a strong sense of unity among the traditional institution, as many royal fathers expressed support for the aspiration of Yewa to produce the next governor of Ogun State. They acknowledged Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola’s record of competence, character, leadership, and consistent public service, expressing confidence in his ability to lead Ogun State to greater heights.
The presentation marks another significant milestone in the APC’s preparations for the 2027 governorship election, as the party continues consultations with key stakeholders across Ogun State.
