The Lawani Banjo Royal Family of Etitale, Ojowo, Ijebu Igbo, and the Alaga Family of Odorasoyin, Oke Sopen, Ijebu Igbo, have announced the passing of Alhaji (Prince) Sikirulahi Olaide Banjo, father of the Olokine of Ojowo, Oba Abdulrasheed Abayomi Banjo, PhD.
Alhaji Sikirulahi Olaide Banjo, who died at the age of 92, was until his death the Oloritun of Aledo Quarters, Odorasoyin, Oke Sopen, Ijebu Igbo, as well as the Chief Imam of Aledo Odorasoyin Mosque.
According to the family announcement, the deceased was widely respected for his service to the community and his religious leadership.
The burial has been scheduled to take place tomorrow, October 7, 2026, at Odorasoyin, Ijebu Igbo, by 10:00 a.m.
The families prayed that Almighty Allah accept his return, forgive his shortcomings and grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus.
The announcement was signed by Prince Abdulateef Oladele Banjo on behalf of the Banjo Family and Chief Salia Kafaru (Sokoto) on behalf of the Alaga Family of Odorasoyin.
