Kposu Benjamin has been remanded by a Magistrates Court in Ilorin at the Mondala Correctional Centre for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl to coma.
The defendant, Benjamin is facing a one-count charge for rape. An offence which contravenes Section 283 of Penal Code Law.
The case which was later adjourned till December 8 by the Magistrate, Adeniyi, mentioned that the case was reported by Bamikaye Kayode who happens to be a staff of the Illumination Security Company to a divisional police headquarters. The matter was later transferred to the State Criminal Investigations Department and referred to the Anti-Human Trafficking Women Unit and Children Protection dept.
The victim fainted while she was being raped by the security guard who works at Motis Table Water before she was rushed to a medical centre at Gaa Akanbi area at Ilorin.
Benjamin, the suspect said he had penetrated his victim’s genital with his fingers. But the medical report presented at the court revealed a whitish substance suspected to be the suspect’s sperm in the pubic hair of the victim.
It was also discovered that the victim’s hymen has been tampered with.
