The Students’ Union Government (SUG) Electoral Committee of Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic, Ijebu-Igbo, has announced the postponement of the 2026/2027 SUG election following technical challenges encountered during the electronic voting process.
In a statement shared with MarvelTvUpdates, the Electoral Committee explained that the election, which was initially scheduled to be conducted via an e-voting platform, was suspended after technical issues affected the voting exercise.
According to the committee, the election has now been rescheduled to Monday, 13th July, 2026, and will be conducted through a manual voting system.
The revised election timetable is as follows:
- Accreditation of Eligible Voters: 7:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
- Voting Exercise (Accredited Students Only): 11:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (Prompt)
The SUG Electoral Committee stressed that only students who have been duly accredited will be eligible to vote.
The committee further urged all students to take note of the new schedule and comply with the guidelines, assuring the student community that any additional updates or relevant information will be communicated as necessary.
MarvelTvUpdates correspondence spoke with some students of Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic regarding the postponed SUG election. One of the students alleged that her matriculation number had been used to cast a vote without her knowledge or consent.
According to the student, when she logged into the e-voting portal to vote, she discovered that a vote had already been recorded using her matriculation number, leaving her unable to cast her own vote.
The student described the incident as unfortunate and expressed concern over the credibility of the e-voting process.
